As impressive as Khozan has been for Journeyman Stud with his nine early winners, none of those victories was more eye-catching than the maiden-breaker of High On Gin at Evangeline Downs on Wednesday.

    The filly by Journeyman's other freshman sire, Fury Kapcori, came from sixth place with a huge run on the turn, then made up about five lengths in the final sixteenth with a monster burst to score by 2 1/4. Bred by Deborah Silveira, the filly earned a check for $13,800 and could loom a serious threat in Florida's 2-year-old division for the rest of the year.
