Dou Does It in Digital Ally Open
Monday, July 31, 2017

The Digital Ally Open in Overland, Kansas, produced another winner whose name is anything but a household word, and probably can't be pronounced by 99.99 percent of Web.com Tour followers. Zecheng Dou shot 23-under 259 to win the event by three strokes and take home the first prize of $117,000.

Central Floridian Rob Oppenheim tied for 13th and earned $10,806 and is in line to make "the 25" and gain his PGA Tour card. Seminole Jack Maguire tied for 71st and collected $1,521.

The tour heads for California this week and the $600,000 Ellie Mae Classic at TPC Stonebrae, and Ted Potter will be there still trying to go over the $200,000 mark in earnings. He fell another spot after missing the cut at the Digital Ally and is currently sitting in 11th place. Maguire is also entered, as is Dan McCarthy, two-time winner of the Ocala Open.

The big buzz this week is the appearance of Steph Curry, Golden State's great shooting guard and a good golfer, but we'll find out just how good on Thursday. The Web.com players have welcomed Curry, knowing his presence will enhance the event.

Stephan Jaeger won the event last year with a record 30 under and he'll try to repeat. He's third on the money list this season.

NEON LIGHTS FOR VEGAS - Jhonathan Vegas captured the RBC Canadian Open for the second straight year, making birdie on the first playoff hole to turn back Charley Hoffman after they tied for the lead at 21 under. Vegas earned $1,080,000, while Hoffman collected $648,000 for second. Ian Poulter was third at 20 under.

Gator Matt Every closed with a pair of 70s for 273, 15 under, and made his biggest check of the season - $102,000. Camilo Villegas tied for 54th, shooting 67 on Sunday, and banked $13,740. Every has played in 28 events this year, missing the cut in 20 and withdrawing in two others. In the six where he has played 72 holes, including four of the last seven, he's earned $222,484.
