Berger Second at John Deere at 14 Under
Sunday, July 16, 2017

Daniel Berger, one of two Seminoles enjoying a top-10 season on the PGA Tour, has a chance to add to his laurels today after his third-round 63 moved him within two strokes of Patrick Rodgers in the John Deere Classic in Silvis, Illinois. Daniel opened with 69-67 and was seven strokes behind Rodgers before he fashioned the 8-under round Saturday while Rodgers shot 68, and the gap closed to two strokes. Scott Stallings is tied with Daniel for second at 14 under.

Daniel is tied for eighth this season with five top 10s - he has one victory and two seconds on his ledger. He's 10th on the money list with $3,629,134. Seminole Brooks Koepka is sixth on that list with $4.4 million in the bank; both will be across the sea at The Open this week.

Camilo Villegas is the only Gator still playing in the John Deere. His 67-69-68-204, 9 under, is good for a tie for 27th. Brett Stegmaier (68-72-75-215) made the 36-hole cut but not the 54-hole cut and won't play today but will get a check in the MDF category. Matt Every missed the cut by one and Brian Gay missed by three.

Billy Horschel, who didn't play this week, will be at The Open, the only Gator to make the field.
