Harold Varner III Takes Third-Round Lead at Hilton Head
Sunday, April 17, 2022

Three rounds, three different leaders. That's become the norm quite often on the PGA Tour in recent months, except when Scottie Scheffler is involved.

Harold Varner III heads into today's finale at 11 under par at the RBC Heritage in Hilton Head, replacing Patrick Cantlay, who shot 70 in yesterday's third round and is now tied for second with Shane Lowry, who shot 65, and Erik van Rooyen, who shot 67, all three one stroke behind Varner's 202. Varner vaulted to the top with an 8-under 63 over the Harbour Town Golf Links.

There are four at 9 under, including Matt Kuchar, who shot 67, and a slew of others right behind, making for an exciting finish today.

Gators are all still alive, led by Billy Horschel , who is tied for ninth with 69-69-67-205, 8 under. Brian Gay is tied for 54th with 67-75-68-210, 3 under, and Camilo Villegas is tied for 63rd with 71-67-74, 1 under. Seminole Daniel Berger is in contention at 7 under after a Saturday 68.
