Potter Makes John Deere Cut at 5 Under
Saturday, July 13, 2019

Ted Potter wasn't as sharp yesterday as he had been in Thursday's opening round of the John Deere Classic, posting an even-par round of 71 to go along with his first-round 66. Remaining at 5 under par, Ted dropped from a tie for 10th into a tie for 41st, making the cut of 3 under easily. He tees off at 9:08 Illinois time partnered with Adam Long at the TPC Deere Run course.

Ted began on the back nine and after eight holes was 2 under, with three birdies and one bogey. But a bad double bogey on No. 18 dropped him back to even par heading to the front. He started out par-birdie after sinking a 15-footer for the bird at No. 2 and remained at one under until he bogeyed No. 7. Two more pars and he finished even.

Jhonattan Vegas went berserk in the second round for a 62 and leads after 36 holes at 13 under. He's one stroke ahead of Andrew Landry (65-65-130) and two in front of Lucas Glover, who shot 64 yesterday. Gator Matt Every (69-71-140) missed the cut by one and Chris Couch, who got in as the first alternate, bombed out with 78-76. Seminole rookie Hank Lebioda missed the cut, too, at even par.
