Potter Four Behind Leading Quartet at Puerto Rico Open
Saturday, February 22, 2020

Kyle Stanley was unable to come close to his opening-round 64 on day 2 of the Puerto Rico Open, but his 2-under 70, putting him at 10 under par, was just good enough to keep him in a deadlock for the top in the $3 million satellite event. Stanley allowed the field to close in, and there are three players tied with him -  Josh Teater, Emiliano Grillo and Viktor Hovland. Sam Ryer is all by himself at 9 under.

Ted Potter posted a 2-under-par 70 and is within hailing distance of the top at the halfway point with his rounds of 68-70-138, 6 under. Ted began on the back nine and parred his first 10 holes. He then birdied both par-5s on the front, the second and the fifth, and wound up tied for 19th.

Ex-Gator Chris Couch made the cut easily in his quest to regain his exemption after a long layoff from Tour play. The cut came at 2 under and Chris beat that by five with his 66-71-137, good for a tie for 10th. Seminole Hank Lebioda was never in the hunt, missing the cut with 74-75-149.
